The Schwörer Lab is always looking for talented scientists to join our group.

Graduate Students

Students interested in pursuing Ph.D. studies in the lab should apply to the Biomedical Sciences Cluster at The University of Chicago. The application portal opens in September and closes in November every year.

We are affiliated with with the Committee on Cancer Biology and Committee on Molecular Metabolism and Nutrition. Current CCB and CMMN students wishing to rotate in the lab should e-mail Simon to discuss this opportunity.

We can also host students from other UChicago graduate programs. Reach out to Simon if you are interested in the lab.

Postdoctoral Fellows

Recent or soon-to-be Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. graduates, as well as UChicago Heme/Onc fellows wishing to pursue postdoctoral training in the lab should e-mail Simon with the following information:

    • A brief summary of your doctoral research
    • Your research interests
    • Why you are interested in our lab

Technicians

Motivated students with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field (or who are close to graduation) wishing to hone their research skills before continuing their graduate training should contact Simon to discuss opportunities. We require a commitment of at least one year.

Undergraduate Students

Motivated students from the University of Chicago wishing to obtain insights into laboratory work over the summer should contact Simon in the winter and spring quarters to discuss volunteering opportunities. We usually have ~2-3 openings in the summer quarter.

Students are welcome to stay in the lab during the school year, pending review of their summer experience.
